Club Members,
We have an opportunity to help the Harden County Soccer club and the 'Cure for the Cause'. Our club will gain a banner to be displayed at soccer termements and we can take the banner anytime for our use. Below are the details, we have until noon on the 3rd to obligate, also the actual cost is $30.00 and anything above that goes to the 'cause'. See below for more info. Please respond if you think this is a good idea.

Dear AFFC Family, With the uncertainty surrounding our tournament, due to the weather and team registrations, we find ourselves severely behind schedule with our fundraising activities for our ‘Play For The Cure’ event. I felt we could remedy this with help from our local newspaper, but apparently our children raising money for a life threatening disease in one of the biggest sporting events to come to Elizabethtown this year is not worthy of consideration for print space. We need businesses to buy banners. The banners are $100, they are 2’ x 4’ and all the money for the banner, after minimal production costs, goes to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. We will give the banner to the business after the event so that they can proudly display their support in the workplace or we will continue to display it at the field. The Komen Foundation will spend 70% of the money locally on things such as support services, with 30% going to a national body for research into a cure. We need your help, and unfortunately we need it in a hurry. If you own a business or work for a business that would support our event please notify me as soon as possible with the name the company wishes to display next to the breast cancer ribbon and then collect funds made out to AFFC, with the word Komen in the memo area. If there are people you know outside our group that may support our drive please forward this or speak to them about becoming a sponsor. Our goal is to turn Carroll as pink as we can by next Friday. Again, this is an urgent request as we need time to have the banners made. Your effort and support is greatly appreciated. For further information contact me at davidslade@windstream.net or on 270 312 3755 during the evening or 270 268 2575 during the day. Thanks David AFFC Play for the Cure Tournament Director |
